MIKE RYAN has been active in the aircraft industry for the last twelve years, on both the engineering, sales and commercial sides. In 1989, with a BSc(Hons) in Engineering from University College, Cardiff, and experience from the aircraft component industry, he joined British Aerospace, the manufacturer of the BAe146 and RJ regional jet aircraft, with responsibility for Sales to Middle East and Africa. Five years later, in 1994, Mike became Director- Sales, of British Aerospace Asset Management Jets, in charge of leasing and selling aircraft into Europe from a portfolio of 112 BAe146 belonging to British Aerospace. During his four years in this position, in addition to several outright sales of aircraft, Mike wrote over $220 million worth of leasing contracts for 25 BAe146's to a number of European operators. In 1998 he formed Vikingar providing consultancy services to the regional aviation industry, including advisory services on aircraft purchases and sales, market, route and performance studies, airline business plans or individual passenger/fare analysis.
Since formation, Vikingar has concluded over US$44 million worth of sales and leases.
